Located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, Salle Pleyel is a symphonic concert hall whose name comes from a French piano factory.
The first Salle Pleyel is originally the assembly of two concert halls, Debussy and Chopin, built by Camille Pleyel. In the early 1920s, Gustave Lyon, an engineer and director of the Pleyel company, built another large music center with 3,000 seats. Inaugurated on October 18, 1927, Salle Pleyel hosted its first concert with the orchestra of the Conservatory Concert Society conducted by Philippe Gaubert.
La Salle Pleyel is a place especially dedicated to classical music. Recently, philarmonic representations are making their way into the programs. There are also jazz or variety concerts.
