In Paris, whether on rotating lanes or mixed lanes, parking is generally limited to two hours. However, there are other long-term parking solutions in Paris : residential parking, long-term parking authorized by the police, rental or long-term parking.
In certain situations, such as during a particular event, work or moving, it is possible to apply for a long-term parking fee at the police station. This however does not guarantee that you can reserve the place. An authorization is issued to you and you must then make an application and present the said authorization to the counters of the Parking Section on the public road.
Long-term parking in Paris may also concern owners of vehicles resident in the French capital who wish to use public transport from time to time, leaving their cars near their homes. To benefit from this type of parking, you must obtain a residential parking card from the Public Road Parking Section. This card is only issued to persons having a principal residence in Paris and having vehicles of less than 3.5 tons, registered in their names and their homes. The card has a validity period of 1 to 3 years, renewable. The residential parking card is a fee, but free for low-emission vehicles such as electric cars, hybrids (except diesel), etc., and for people not subject to income tax.
